About Me . . .

I most definitely practise what I preach and that also means that the areas that I concentrate my expertise on are nearly all experiences that I have been through myself.

For example: Difficult family issues, ongoing health problems, parenting, interpersonal relationships and more as life continues to offer up challenges, no matter what age you are!

If you would like to know more about my personal experiences, I have written an autobiographical book entitled: “Destination Delinquency?”. You can find this on the internet at www.amazon.co.uk

With regards to qualifications: I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree with Majors in Psychology and Sociology. This was obtained from the University of South Africa (UNISA) and is an Internationally recognized degree. Other subjects included in this degree were: Communications, Private Law and French.

I emigrated to the United Kingdom in 2001 and obtained a Psychology Conversion Diploma in order to be fully qualified in Psychology here in the UK. This has allowed me to join the British Psychological Society as a Graduate Member. Since then, I have had various training in Cognitive-Behavioural therapy, Behavioural-Modification Approaches as well as Brief Intervention Therapies. I have also recently completed a Life Coaching Diploma through the Institute of Life Coaching based in the UK.

I have worked in the Mental Health field for over five years now and have coached people from all sorts of backgrounds. Past work experience has included working in Broadmoor Prison, working as an Assistant Psychologist and working with people with learning disabilities. Currently I work part-time coaching people with criminal records (at The National Probation Service) and help them rebuild their lives, examine their thinking and attitudes and assist them in progressing towards their goals.

I have learnt that life will constantly challenge you but your attitude towards your experiences ultimately determines the outcome. It may seem simplistic but that is the basic tenet that underpins that elusive emotion we call “happiness”.

”The last of the human freedoms is to choose one's attitudes”
